Grand Junction is rich with baseball history, it has been the home of the Junior College World Series for the past 65 years, the home of the Div II Colorado Mesa University Mavericks (which have won more games than any other Division II baseball team in the last 14 years), and the home of the Pioneer League Grand Junction Rockies since 2001. This legacy along with our high desert climate, 300 days of sunshine each year, and a very friendly community makes it the perfect baseball destination.
Each of the Grand Junction High Desert competitive tournaments will accommodate 48 teams, ranging in age from 9u through 14u over two weekends during the year. Utilizing four of the Western Colorado sports complexes, it’s set to become one of the premier tournament locations in the Colorado.
There are many routes to get to Grand Junction, and whether heading west along Interstate 70 over Vail Pass, through Glenwood Canyon and past Mt Garfield, traveling east on Interstate 70 through beautiful Utah, or traveling on one of the many Colorado Scenic & Historic Byways, you are in for a beautiful drive. Because after all, the trip getting here will be half the fun.
Register soon so you can take part in a great weekend of baseball here in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
Grand Junction High Desert Tournaments are brought to you in partnership with the Greater Grand Junction Sports Commission.
In addition to hosting two premier youth baseball tournaments, GJHDB proudly organizes and operates the Grand Valley Competitive Baseball League (GVCBL). This league provides competitive youth teams with an opportunity to extend their season beyond traditional tournament play, allowing for greater player development and more meaningful game experience.
With over 35 teams across six age divisions, each team competes in 14+ games per season, helping players refine their skills, gain valuable in-game experience, and foster team camaraderie. Regular league play ensures more reps at the plate, on the mound, and in the field—critical for growth and progression in the sport.
Visit our GVCBL page to access team information, schedules, locations, rules, umpire details, and additional resources to keep you connected throughout the season.
